TikTok is less than a month away from being banned in the US, but it seems US President-elect Donald Trump has little desire to suspend the app.
“We’re going to have to start thinking about that because, you know, we went on TikTok and we had a huge response with billions of views, billions and billions of views,” Trump said at an event in Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday. USA.
“They brought me a chart and it was a record, it was a real thing and as I looked at it I said, ‘We may have to keep this bastard around for a while,’” Trump said, according to Reuters.
It's worth noting that TikTok's CEO met with Trump recently, but the ByteDance-owned app's troubles aren't limited to the US. In addition to TikTok being investigated by the European Commission for alleged interference in the Romanian elections, the app will also be blocked in Albania from January.
