Ubisoft has announced the closure of ‘XDefiant’, a free-to-play online game released just over six months ago for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
The French company didn’t stop there and indicated that the three studios that worked on the game will be closed, with 277 employees losing their jobs.
Ubisoft announced that no new downloads, player registrations or purchases will be accepted in ‘XDefiant’. Although Season 3 will be released as planned, the game’s servers will be permanently closed on June 3, 2025.
