Auschwitz Marks 80 Years of Liberation. Survivors Are Protagonists

The former Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp, where the Nazi regime eliminated more than a million Jews, marks 80 years since its liberation today.

"All Auschwitz survivors are invited," the Memorial reported, and this morning some of these World War II heroes are already arriving at the site.

They appear with a heavy expression, clearly reminiscent of what was the greatest genocide of the 20th century.

In addition to the protagonists of this regrettable story, representatives from around 40 countries also confirmed their presence.

It is worth remembering that 6 million Jews from all over Europe were murdered.

In 2005, the United Nations designated January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
