A man vandalized Pelotas International Airport in Brazil and attacked an employee after missing a flight on Sunday.
According to the airport's communications department, cited by g1, the passenger was a customer of Voepass Linhas Aéreas and was traveling with his family to Florianópolis, in Santa Catarina.
However, he arrived after the boarding deadline and was therefore prevented from boarding. Because of this, he punched one of the employees, broke into a room and broke the windows and the access door to the terminal.
The employee needed medical attention, but is doing well.
Voepass said in a statement that it "stands in solidarity" with the employee, who needed stitches and has a medical certificate, and made itself "available to support him in whatever way necessary, repudiating any type of violent action."
The Civil Police are investigating the case.
The passenger fled the scene, along with his children and wife.
