At 81, Still Waiting Tables Because Retirement Wasn’t an Option

At 81 years old, Betty surprised everyone who went to the Eat’N Park café in Pittsburgh, USA. The elderly woman is one of the most famous employees in the space, especially due to the fact that she continues to work at such an advanced age.

"I'm too poor to retire," Betty replies whenever someone asks her why she's there.

The woman said that what she received from the State was not enough to pay all her monthly expenses, but her life is changing thanks to a client who decided to share her situation on TikTok.

Tamie shared her story on social media, stating that all the profits from the publication would go to Betty.

"If there's one video I wish would go viral, it's this one," Tammie says at the beginning of the video she shared.

The video was seen by millions of people and she managed to raise 140 thousand dollars, which she gave to the elderly woman. A Go Fund Me page was later set up for people to donate to Betty. With this, more than R$200 thousand were raised.
