Russia Strikes Multiple Ukrainian Regions with 163 Drones in Coordinated Attack

The Russian military launched a total of 163 unmanned aerial vehicles against several regions of Ukraine on Thursday night, according to a report from the Ukrainian Air Force released today.

Ukrainian air defenses shot down 89 attack drones launched by Russia in several regions of the south, north and center of the country. Another 51 replica drones crashed without causing damage.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the attack caused damage in the regions of Kharkiv and Sumy (northeast), Zaporizhia (southeast) and Mykolaiv and Odessa (south).

Russia and Ukraine continue to trade strikes against each other's rearguards after agreeing on Tuesday with the United States in Saudi Arabia to declare a truce in attacks on energy infrastructure and also to work towards a ceasefire in the Black Sea.

According to Ivan Kovalenko, head of the Center for Combating Disinformation at Ukraine's National Security Council, Russia's Engels-2 airbase was attacked again on Thursday night. Russia, meanwhile, says it has shot down 100 Ukrainian drones in eight regions in the past 12 hours, following days of relative calm following the announcement of the energy truce.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 32 drones were shot down in the Voronezh region, 19 in Saratov, 17 in Kursk and six in Belgorod. Two drones were neutralized in the Lipetsk region, one in Rostov and one in Tambov. Meanwhile, authorities in the border region of Bryansk reported the downing of more than 20 drones that attacked an agricultural enterprise. "Contrary to the Kyiv regime's statements about the alleged cessation of attacks on Russian energy facilities, the transformer substation of the (agricultural) enterprise was damaged as a result of the attack," Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz wrote on Telegram.

The Russian Defense Ministry has again accused Ukraine of violating the energy truce announced after negotiations with the United States in Riyadh this week.
