Eintracht Frankfurt missed the chance to move further ahead of third place in the German football league today, drawing 0-0 at Augsburg in the 30th round of the competition, led by Bayern Munich.
The Frankfurt team made the most of Leipzig's unexpected 1-1 draw on Saturday at home to bottom-placed Holstein Kiel, and remained three points clear of fourth-placed team, who will host them in the next round.
Freiburg, who won 3-2 at home to Hoffenheim on Saturday, moved up to fifth place and are four points behind Eintracht Frankfurt, while sixth-placed Mainz remained five points behind after drawing 2-2 at home to Wolfsburg.
The Bundesliga is comfortably led by Bayern Munich, who thrashed Heidenheim 4-0 on Saturday, extending their lead over Bayer Leverkusen to nine points, although the current champions only come into action today, away to St. Pauli, in the closing match of the round.
