American Traveler Reports Being Asked for Cash Multiple Times at Nigerian Airports, Police Checkpoints, and Hotels

 

An American man shared a video detailing his experience of being repeatedly asked for cash at least 10 times while entering and exiting airports in Nigeria, at numerous road police checkpoints described as shakedown points, and upon arriving at his hotel.

"Nigerians, is your entire country set up to extort people?Coming in and out of airports, I was asked for cash at least 10 times. Many roads have checkpoints, but are they really for security or just points to extort travelers?”
