Timesha Beauchamp Mistakenly Pronounced Dead and Placed in Body Bag While Still Alive

In August 2020, 20-year-old Timesha Beauchamp from Michigan was mistakenly pronounced dead by paramedics inside her own home.

She was placed in a body bag and transported to a funeral home — while she was still alive.

It wasn’t until a funeral home worker noticed her eyes opening and her chest moving that the horrifying mistake was discovered. She was rushed to the hospital, but after suffering severe brain injury due to lack of oxygen, she passed away two months later.

Her family fought for years to seek accountability. In January 2026, a legal settlement was announced — offering some measure of justice, but no true closure.

Timesha was not an error.

She was a daughter. A human being. A life that deserved care, dignity, and to be seen. 💔
