At Least 10 Killed and 39 Injured in Jail Clash in Turkey

A passenger bus crashed into several vehicles on Sunday night, causing at least 10 deaths and 39 injuries on a highway in the southern Turkish province of Mersin.

The accident occurred after the bus swerved into the opposite lane in heavy rain and hit two cars. A truck later collided with the three vehicles, said governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan, quoted by the Associated Press (AP).

The victims were taken to nearby hospitals. At least eight people were in serious condition, according to the state-run Anadolu news agency.

A total of 28 passengers were on board the intercity bus, which was traveling from the city of Diyarbakir to Adana.
