Casemiro 'devastated' by Manchester United's defeat: “This has to stop”

Jamie Carragher on Monday singled out Casemiro, the former FC Porto midfielder, as one of the main culprits in Manchester United's heavy 4-0 defeat at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.

For the former Liverpool captain and current sports commentator for British television station Sky Sport, the Brazilian international, “as an experienced player, should know that he only has three more games left at a high level, the next two in the Premier League and the cup final”: “After that, let him go to the MLS or Saudi Arabia”.

“I'm serious. His agent and the team of people around him have to tell him that this has to stop. We're talking about one of the greats of modern times, who played in one of the best midfields we've seen dominate Europe, with Kroos and Modric,” he said.

“I'm nowhere near what that man achieved, winning the Champions League, playing for Brazil and Real Madrid... But I always remember when I retired. There's a saying I always remember. Leave soccer before soccer leaves you", he continued.

“Football has left him, at this top level. He has to accept it and move on. They should pay him compensation or reach some kind of agreement, but a player like that shouldn't be subjected to this by Crystal Palace,” he added.
