The summer transfer market opens in just over a week's time, and FC Porto are already actively looking for a new solution for the center of defense, following Pepe's confirmed departure, as part of a cost containment policy.
Mika Faye is the name that most appeals to the board led by André Villas-Boas, who are even willing to pay around 15 million euros to 'rescue' him from Camp Nou. However, so far, the Catalan club has not made any kind of decision on the matter.
According to Wednesday's edition of Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the team led by Joan Laporta intends to give the new coach, Hans-Dieter Flick, the opportunity to observe the Senegalese international during pre-season.
In addition, those in charge at the Blaugrana prefer to wait for other offers to come in, despite the fact that the amount proposed by the Blue and Whites is considered satisfactory for a player with little proven track record.
