A huge fish washed ashore on Monday, June 3, on a beach in Oregon, USA, and attracted crowds because it was over two meters long. On Friday, the fish was still on the beach.
According to the Associated Press, the fish can remain on the beach for several weeks, as it is difficult for other animals to pierce its tough skin.
In the images released by the Seaside Aquarium, you can see that the fish has a flat, round shape and is grey in color.
After seeing the images posted on social media, a researcher contacted Seaside Aquarium to confirm that it was a moonfish.
Marianne Nyegaard also confirmed that it was a very rare fish and could be the largest of its kind ever seen.
