In an interview with Radio Marca, Pintinho, a former Farense player in the 1986/87 season, harshly criticized Vinícius Júnior, saying that his compatriot "is a bit of a clown" and that he doesn't like some of his attitudes. Pintinho, 70, said that Vinícius should ignore racist taunts and that if he isn't happy in Spain, he should find somewhere else to play.
Pintinho also criticized Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, claiming that he consented to Vinícius' behavior. "You're very good, but you can't keep getting carried away in provocations," said the former player, who has lived in Spain for 45 years and argues that the country is not racist.
