The Guardia Civil Intelligence Service has dismantled the self-styled Fundación I'lam, one of the largest propaganda centers linked to Islamic State, according to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial on Monday.
This was the result of a joint operation with Europol and the FBI, as well as the authorities of the Netherlands, Germany, France, Estonia, Romania and Iceland, which culminated in the arrest of a total of nine people in the regions of Salt (Girona), Algeciras (Cádiz), Anta (Almería) and Tenerife.
This network allegedly tried to call for an attack on a bus carrying Real Madrid players, with the message: "My dear brother. Wait in a place close to where the players are arriving. Target them, along with the fans".
Another body was targeting the Santiago Bernabéu: "My dear brother in Al-Andaluz. A very valuable goal awaits you. Blend in with the crowd, distract security with improvised explosives and decoys, and advance towards your main objective with determination."
