Late on Saturday morning, Fenerbahce broke the silence surrounding the news that, over the last few hours, has been reporting an alleged understanding with José Mourinho, the man chosen to coach the first team.
“Negotiations have begun with José Mário dos Santos Félix Mourinho for the position of coach,” reads the short note sent by the club to Kamuyu Aydınlatma Platformu'na (KAP), the platform used in Turkey to carry out relevant communications to the respective investors.
The announcement comes less than 24 hours after the Istanbul 'colossus' made public their decision to let go of their coach, Ismail Kartal, who until yesterday was unable to prevent the title from going to Galatasaray.
The expectation is that José Mourinho will arrive in Turkey in the next few days to sign a contract valid for the next two seasons, with a further option, thus sealing his return to active football after resigning from the helm of AS Roma last January.
