Former US First Lady Michelle Obama announced on her social networks on Friday (31) the death of her mother, Marian Robinson, at the age of 86. In addition to her daughter, the matriarch leaves behind another son, Craig Robinson.
“My mother Marian Robinson was my base, always there for whatever I needed. She was the same constant stop for our entire family, and we are heartbroken to share that she passed away today. We wanted to offer some reflections on her remarkable life,' reads the post on the Instagram feed with a photo of the matriarch.
“Marian Lois Shields Robinson - our mother, mother-in-law and grandmother - had a way of summing up the truths about life in a word or two, perhaps a quick phrase that would make everyone around her stop and think. Her wisdom seemed almost innate, something she was born with, but in reality it was hard-won, shaped by her deep understanding that the world's roughest edges could always be sanded down with a little grace,” reads the statement on the death of the mother-in-law of former US president Barack Obama.
Michelle Obama was first lady of the USA for two terms, from January 2009 to January 2017.
