Microsoft has prepared the 'Radical Joy' campaign, which will run throughout June, a month "especially colorful and dedicated to celebrating diversity and inclusion", in connection with the Pride 2024 initiative.
The campaign was developed by LGBTQIA+ communities and "is an ode to the strength and power of these communities and an anthem to acceptance for those who thrive against all odds", explains Microsoft in a statement.
The initiative includes designs that combine 74 flags representing different LGBTQIA+ identities, "here reflected in abstract and vibrant shapes that refer to the characteristic joy".
"This year's graphic resource expands representation to 25 new communities and is localized for 33 languages", says Microsoft, challenging, "for the first time", to "create stickers, personalized social media posts, among others", using "Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered tools such as Microsoft Designer and Clipchamp."
Microsoft also made “various materials related to Pride available to all users on Figma and GitHub completely free of charge”.
The company also cited stories from some of its employees. Among them is Paige, who revealed: "I'm Asian, I'm bisexual. I was once engaged to the 'perfect man,' but I didn't feel the joy I expected, so I stayed true to myself. Embracing that authenticity fuels my joy in amplify Asian voices and defend LGBTQIA+ rights.”
In conclusion, the IT giant assured that its "efforts [...] do not begin or end with Pride".
"The technology company continues to leverage its platform throughout the year to support and learn from LGBTQIA+ communities and address issues that affect the experience, safety and fundamental rights of employees and their communities around the world", it reads in the informative note, sharing more information on its website.
