Pirates of the Caribbean Actor Tamayo Perry Killed by Shark in Hawaii

 


Tamayo Perry, actor from the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise, was found dead on a beach in Hawaii. The artist's body had shark bite injuries.

Perry was last seen surfing off the coast of Goat Island, near Laie. A person passing by saw the body of a man and called Emergency Medical Services.

When rescuers arrived at the scene, Tamayo Perry was already dead. The body was taken to shore by motorboat, but could not be resuscitated.

Local authorities said Perry suffered several bite wounds. It is the second death of its kind in the region within a month.


Actor, surfer and lifeguard


Tamayo Perry had a long film career. He acted in films and series such as Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, The Wave of Dreams, The Coup, Lost and Hawaii Five-0.


Perry was also a lifeguard and surfer.


Honolulu's interim ocean safety chief, Kurt Lager, paid tribute to Perry.

“Tamayo Perry was a beloved lifeguard, well known on the North Shore, a world-renowned professional surfer. He loved everyone else more. Our condolences go out to Tamayo's family and the entire Ohana lifeguard. We ask for some privacy for his family at this time.”

Perry's death was also mourned by Rick Blangiardi, the local mayor.

“It’s really hard to imagine, so we just want to pay our respects to our guys. I hope everyone wishes the family the best of honor and respects the situation.”
