Young Man Kills His Parents In The US And Is Involved In An Exchange Of Fire With Police

A 19-year-old man killed his parents in Florida, USA, fatally shooting them inside the home where they lived. Afterwards, he shot a police officer in a moment that was filmed by the officer's body cameras.

Christos Alexander Themelis Jr. shot his father, 58, and then his mother Rebecca, 48, at 11pm on Saturday, Hillsborough County police said. 

Authorities rushed to the scene after receiving a call from the mother that her son had shot his father and was still shooting.

When they arrived, the woman was in the yard in front of the house, and they ordered her to walk towards the police, at which point the son shot her in the back of the head.

He then fired at the police. In this exchange of fire, he wounded a 26-year-old officer and was also shot. He then barricaded himself inside his house.

The young man was eventually found dead inside the house. It is believed that he had been wounded in the exchange of fire with the police.
