Confirmed: Body Found In Tenerife Is (Really) That Of Jay Slater

The body found by rescue teams on Monday in Tenerife is that of a 19-year-old British man, Jay Slater, the Tenerife court confirmed this Tuesday.

The court spokesman said that fingerprints examined in an autopsy confirmed that the body was that of the missing British teenager, according to Sky News.

The injuries suffered were consistent with falling from a cliff, the spokesperson added.

This Tuesday it had already been reported that Jay Slater's documents were recovered along with the body discovered on Monday in the area where the disappearance occurred.

It should be remembered that, also on Monday, the rescue and rescue teams looking for the British teenager found remains that they believed belonged to Jay, in the village of Masca. "The evidence strongly suggests" that the remains are those of the young man, authorities announced, cited by Sky News.

The boy had been missing since June 17th. Earlier on Sunday, Jay Slater's mother said she "can't put into words" the pain her family is feeling.

"We would also like to say that we are aware of the horrible comments and conspiracy theories that are filling social media. These theories are harming the people who are trying to help us with their investigations here in Tenerife and are vile to a family. He is a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to so many. He is a very popular boy and it is very sad for all of us to read this", concluded the young man's mother.
