A two-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man died on Monday after arriving on the island of El Hierro, in the Canaries, aboard a canoe. There is also a baby, just one year old, and a man, 30, who are in a serious condition.
According to ABC Spain, the child and the young man were taken to different hospitals, where they died.
The canoe had left Senegal a week ago. It arrived at the port of La Restinga with 51 people on board, including six women and four minors.
In the last few hours, two boats with 111 migrants on board have arrived at different points in the Canary Islands.
One of the boats was carrying 17 migrants, who were in good health and were seen by the emergency services. Another boat rescued 94 migrants.
