The pilot's wife believes that he avoided crashing into houses and thus prevented more fatalities.
The wife of the pilot of the Voepass plane that crashed on Friday in São Paulo speaks of her husband as a "hero".
Danilo Romano, 35, was the pilot in charge of the Voepass Linhas Aéreas aircraft that crashed in Vinhedo. The man is one of the 62 fatal victims of the crash and his wife said she hopes he managed to avoid greater harm.
"I imagine he managed to dodge houses so as not to hit other people too. He's a hero to me," says his wife, saying that it's in these beliefs that she keeps her hope and eases the pain of her loss.
Thalita Machado, who had been with the pilot since 2020, says she still has trouble believing what happened and confesses that after the tragedy she still called and texted her husband, hoping to get an answer.
According to her, and also according to reports from other friends, the man was not scheduled to go to work that day. "On the previous days, he had the day off. He was rested," says the woman, noting that he "was on standby in case he had to go to work.
Also in the same interview, given to the programme Fantástico, Thalida warned of the fact that fake profiles are appearing on social networks in the name of the pilot's family, asking for money.
"We're not asking for any kind of help in this regard. There are people taking advantage of this moment, this commotion and even stealing our grief because we can't go through this situation in peace," she said, quoted by G1.
