There are many ways to combat tiredness and, fortunately, most of them don't involve caffeine. Don't think so? Experts quoted in the Mirror have some very useful tips that are easy to put into practice. Take note!
Four tips to combat tiredness (without caffeine):
Take account of the calories you consume and what you eat. Jeff Foster, a doctor, says that certain foods can “affect concentration and cause tiredness”;
Drink plenty of water. This is crucial because not being sufficiently hydrated can deplete your energy, warns Emma Thornton, a nutritionist. She explains that many doctors estimate that 12% of cases of fatigue are related to not drinking enough water;
Take walks. According to the doctor, “this type of exercise can help you feel more alert and improve the quality of your sleep”;
Avoid alcohol. Nerina Ramlakhan, a sleep specialist, explains that alcohol can prevent you from entering the first REM phase of sleep.
