Over the years it has become quite clear that Facebook and Apple have no shortage of areas where they disagree, with several occasions where they have thrown barbs at each other. Now, Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has stated during one of the most recent episodes of the Acquired podcast that his company is “the opposite of Apple” in many ways. Furthermore, Zuckerberg also pointed out flaws in the strategy adopted by Tim Cook at the ‘Apple Company’.
“I think in many ways we are the opposite of Apple. Clearly, their stuff has worked well too. They take an approach of like, ‘Let’s take a long time, let’s polish it and launch it,’” Zuckerberg noted according to the website 9to5mac. “And maybe for the things they do, that works and fits their culture.”
On the other hand, Zuckerberg notes that Meta adopts a strategy of launching products and refining them over the years based on feedback obtained from users.
“You really want to have a culture that values putting things out there and getting feedback, more than the need to always get big positive praise from people when you launch something,” noted the Meta leader. “If you wait until you get praised all the time, you're wasting a lot of time where you could have learned a lot of useful things and then incorporated that into the next version that comes out.”
