Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Mongolia on Monday, according to Russian state media.
The Russian president's arrival in the country comes after the European Union (EU) asked Mongolia to execute an international arrest warrant and detain the Russian president as soon as he arrived in the country.
According to images shared by Russian state television, Putin's plane can be seen landing at the airport.
It should be remembered that following the announcement of Putin's trip to Mongolia, the International Criminal Court (ICC) asked the country to execute an arrest warrant against him for the deportation and illegal transfer of thousands of Ukrainian children from refugee camps in Ukraine.
The court recalled in a statement that Mongolia is a state party to the Rome Statute of the ICC and that it depends precisely on its state parties and other partners to implement its decisions, including in relation to arrest warrants.
