The patent suggests some interesting changes from a user experience perspective.
A patent filed by Apple and spotted by Patently Apple indicates that the ‘Apple Company’ is interested in developing a MacBook-like device with a glass enclosure.
In addition to contributing to a device that looks different from the competition, this device will also allow users to access features and options in different ways. Depending on the area they touch or the context, they could have access to different ways of controlling the device.
Despite being an interesting concept, it is unlikely that this device will materialize into a real product any time soon. As it is an electronic device composed entirely of glass, it is hard to imagine that it could be sufficiently resistant.
However, the patent in question is a clear sign that Apple is looking at different solutions and potential paths for the future in order to ensure that it continues to innovate within this space.
