'Halo' Producer Changes Name And Adopts Unreal Engine As Game Engine

The production company responsible for the 'Halo' saga, 343 Industries, has announced that it will be changing its name to Halo Studios. What's more, the Microsoft-owned company said that it is working on several new games.

This, however, was not the biggest news announced by the company. Halo Studios announced that it is abandoning the Slipspace Engine as its game engine, confirming that it has decided to adopt the Unreal Engine 5 to develop the next games in the 'Halo' saga. You can watch a video of the announcement above.

It's worth remembering that 'Halo Infinite' was the last game in the franchise to be released in 2021 and, since then, (then called) 343 Industries has been plagued by leadership changes and also layoffs.
