On Monday,a 15-year-old boy killed five people from the same family in Washington. Yesterday, new information on the case revealed that the suspect was the son and brother of the victims and that only one minor survived the attack.
US media are now revealing the identity of the victims.
Mark Humiston, 42, and Sarah are the suspect's parents, killed in the attack, which took place in the house where the family lived. The remaining three victims were the couple's children and the suspect's siblings.
Mark, a native of Texas, was a computer engineer with around 20 years' experience. Sarah was a nurse, but it is uncertain whether she was currently practicing, as her work permit expired in 2022.
According to the NY Post, the family lived in a luxury home in the Seattle neighborhood to which they had moved in 2019.
Only one girl survived the attack. The child was shot twice but managed to escape, eventually asking a neighbor for help. The girl is hospitalized but is not in danger of dying.
The motives for the murder are not yet known.
