North Korea destroyed several sections of roads connecting it to the South on Monday, the South Korean military said, after Pyongyang announced it would cut off transport links to its neighbour.
"North Korea detonated parts of the Gyeongui and Donghae roads on the Military Demarcation Line around noon," South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said in a statement.
Last week, Pyongyang announced it was cutting and fortifying roads and railways connecting it to the South in response to a recently passed constitutional amendment that would unilaterally redraw the country's borders on the orders of leader Kim Jong-un.
