Roy Keane argued this Sunday, speaking on British television station ITV, that Pep Guardiola is the ideal target to take over as coach of England's top team, given the uncertainty surrounding Lee Carsley's future.
“The most important thing is to find the right man. They all have a chance. The FA [Football Association] has to go after the right man, whoever he is,” said the former Manchester United captain and current sports commentator, regarding the future of the Manchester City manager.
“Whether finances are a factor, or if Lee rules himself out and isn't interested, which seems to be the word... The FA have to get to work and find the right man. Go after Pep. Go after the best. Pep's contract ends in the summer,” he added.
As things stand, Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter [who is currently out of contract] and Eddie Howe [who is at Newcastle] have all been mentioned as potential candidates to take over the Three Lions in the near future.
