The 16-year-old who fatally stabbed a taxi driver in Madrid was arrested this Thursday. And it is now known that the minor was denounced by his own mother.
According to ABC, the woman saw her son's photo on social media, claiming that the police were looking for him, and decided to convince her son to hand himself in to the authorities.
Although the young man's identity and background have not been revealed, as he is a minor, it is known that he was known to the National Police for having been involved in disagreements.
If convicted of murder, he could be sentenced to a maximum of eight years in a juvenile detention center. If he is also convicted of robbery with violence and intimidation, the sentence will be increased by another year.
It should be remembered that the young man stabbed the taxi driver on Tuesday night in the parking lot of the Príncipe de Asturias Hospital in Alcalá de Henares. It seems that the young man stabbed the man because he didn't want to pay his bill.
The driver was rescued by professionals from the hospital, but was unable to resist his injuries and died the following day.
