Google today announced the expansion of its Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) personal assistant for Google Workspace to seven additional languages, which include Portuguese, allowing you to update your Gmail inbox in that language.
This way, users can ask Gemini to show unread 'mails' and manage their responses in Portuguese, among other features, help write texts, summarize documents in Drive, create images and tables, among other features.
Starting today, languages such as Portuguese, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and English will be supported by Gemini in the side panel of Google Docs, Sheets, Drive and Gmail.
"This expansion makes Gemini for Workspace [Google's productivity tool] increasingly accessible to more than a billion people whose first language is now supported," says the technology company.
The feature is available in the Google Workspace side menu.
"The ability to work in your preferred language goes beyond summarizing and creating content. When you use the Gemini app (gemini.google.com) to research a topic or discuss ideas, you can choose to work in any of 40 languages," advances the technology, in a publication on its blog.
For example, during a video call on Google Meet, you can enable translated captions in one of the 69 supported languages, regardless of the language spoken, and soon, "Gemini will also automatically translate messages in Google Chat," he adds.
Meanwhile, since October, Gemini Live has been able to chat in Portuguese from Portugal.
