The Russian presidential spokesman (Kremlin) said today that Moscow alerted the United States 30 minutes before it fired a hypersonic ballistic missile at Ukraine.
“The warning was sent automatically 30 minutes before the launch,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov, quoted by Russian news agencies, adding that Moscow maintains ‘constant communication’ with the United States on the issue of nuclear weapons.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced today that his forces had attacked Ukraine with a new medium-range hypersonic ballistic missile with no nuclear payload, in a strike on the city of Dnipro.
In Washington, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre accused Russia of “provoking the escalation” in Ukraine, while Moscow blamed Washington for worsening the conflict by allowing the Ukrainian army to use US missiles in attacks on Russian territory.
