The Philadeplhia 76ers left, in the early hours of Thursday to Friday, defeated on the trip to the Staples Center, against the Los Angeles Clippers, by 110 to 98, in a game that was marked by the return of Paul George to the 'home' where he played, among 2019 and last summer.
The 34-year-old player was the target of intense protest from the more than 15,000 fans who went to the venue located in the state of California, who did not forget the 'troubled' way in which he left. Even so, he himself made a point of devaluing what happened.
"It's stupid. I mean, I was a free player, you know what I mean? I didn't demand a trade or go against the team. I was a free player", he began by saying, in statements given to the North American television station. American ESPN.
"The team presented me with something that was favorable to them and did what was best for me, in that situation. There was some applause, which I am grateful for. It was for those that I played hard. As for the whistles, I don't understand them", he continued.
"I don't understand them either, when he goes back to Indiana [represented the Pacers, between 2010 and 2017], but it is what it is. It's the sport. I'm looking forward to next year when I come back here and there are more whistles," completed the point guard.
