Bojan Krkic confesses that the former striker caught his attention when he was still representing the Belgium under-17 team.
Bojan Krkic (the father, not the son, who is now Barcelona's football coordinator) gave, this Thursday, an extensive interview to the program 'Què t'hi jugues', broadcast on the Spanish radio SER Catalunya, where he made a curious confession.
The former observer of the historic Blaugrana emblem confessed that he had his eye on... Eden Hazard, the player who left Chelsea for Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, in exchange for more than 100 million euros, and who, in the meantime , retired at 32 years of age. However, the signs left on the field did not convince him.
"I met Eden Hazard at the U17 European Championship. At that time, Belgium and Spain were superior. They reached the final and Spain won, but Hazard played wonderfully throughout the tournament, with the exception of the final", he began by stating.
"He signed with Lille [in 2005, coming from AFC Tubize], and I was following him. I went to see him in a game, in Montpellier. Both teams warmed up, in August, in the heat, and they were missing a player from Lille", he continued.
"The whole team came to warm up, but he didn't. Everyone was stretching, and he was looking at the stands. He played well, but, in terms of delivery and attitude, I didn't like it (...). In the report, I said 'discarded'", he added.
