Russian Forces Launch Massive Attack With Kamikaze Shahed Drones

Russian forces today launched a massive attack using Shahed kamikaze drones and other models that targeted the cities of Kyiv and Odessa, according to local authorities.

In the capital and surrounding areas, the Ukrainian army shot down more than 30 drones, it was also reported.

Fragments of some of these drones fell on residential areas and caused damage to homes and commercial infrastructure, according to the Kyiv region's Military Administration.

In Odessa, which is located in southern Ukraine and is the country's main seaport, a multi-storey building and an unknown number of cars were hit during the attack, in which a 30-year-old man was injured, according to the regional Military Administration.

Russian drones also struck the Zhytomyr region in central Ukraine, where they hit electrical infrastructure.

Three districts in the region were temporarily without power as a result of the impact.

At the same time, a Russian aerial bomb killed one person in the Sumi region of southeastern Ukraine, on the border with Russia.

Every night, Russia attacks Ukrainian territory with dozens of Shahed kamikaze drones, a relatively cheap technology received from Iran and capable of reaching distances of over a thousand kilometres.

Ukrainian defences intercept the vast majority of these drones, which, however, continue to cause casualties and material damage by directly impacting infrastructure or houses or by having fragments of the downed devices fall on them.
