North Korea Launches Unidentified Ballistic Missile into Sea of ​​Japan



North Korea launched an unidentified ballistic missile toward the Sea of ​​Japan, called the East Sea in both Koreas, according to the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).


The Japanese Ministry of Defense also reported on the new North Korean test, carried out on Thursday (local time, GMT plus nine hours) the first of its kind since September 18, and indicated that it is analyzing its details.



The JCS explained in a brief statement that it is compiling details of the launch, which follows the meeting held in Washington between the defense ministers of the United States of America (USA) and South Korea, Lloyd Austin and Kim Yong-hyun, respectively. .


At that meeting, both leaders condemned the sending of North Korean troops to Russia, which, according to Austin, had already approached the Ukrainian front and are equipped with Russian uniforms and materials.


Similarly, the day before, South Korean intelligence indicated that Pyongyang had completed preparations to carry out a new nuclear test and the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), and warned that it could carry out some of these weapons tests soon.


North Korea launched several short-range ballistic missiles on September 18, a test in which it said it had successfully tested a new tactical projectile capable of carrying a large warhead.
