After a two-year wait, The Town returns to São Paulo on September 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14, 2025, at the Interlagos Race Track. This upcoming and historic edition will mark the second successful chapter in the history of the biggest music, culture and art festival the city has ever hosted. The festival has just confirmed its first of many other attractions that will be announced soon. With a stunning performance at Rock in Rio 40 years that sent the entire audience wild, Katy Perry will be at the second edition of The Town and will headline the Skyline stage on September 14. The artist has become one of the most requested and awaited names by fans from all over the country who were at Cidade do Rock and continue to ask for another opportunity to live this experience, in addition to those who were unable to attend the festival this year – since tickets for the date she performed sold out in just one hour and forty-three minutes. With an unprecedented show that brings together hits from her career and her latest album “143”, the singer finally returns to São Paulo seven years after her last visit, bringing all her energy and emotion, in a performance that will be unforgettable.

The Town will have five days full of memorable moments with many attractions that will make history in the City of Music – which arrives even more powerful with a restructuring that brings the change of location of The One and other stages and spaces, to guarantee, once again, a unique experience for the public.

Since her debut with Capitol Records in 2008 with the album One of the Boys, Katy Perry has accumulated an impressive 115 billion streams, in addition to worldwide sales that total more than 70 million adjusted albums and 143 million tracks. The best-selling female artist in Capitol history, Katy is one of only twelve artists in history to surpass 100 million certified units with solo single releases – and the first Capitol Records artist to reach the 10 million RIAA certified units milestone for a single in 2015. She was also the first artist in RIAA history to achieve three Diamond-certified singles – with “Firework,” “Dark Horse,” and “Roar.” She has since added a few more certifications to her collection with “California Gurls” (feat. Snoop Dogg), “E.T.” and both the SINGLE and ALBUM “Teenage Dream” achieving DIAMOND status. Katy now has six singles and one album, bringing her total to SEVEN Diamond-certified titles.

“Katy Perry’s show at the 40th anniversary edition of Rock in Rio was spectacular! It still resonates in the hearts of the thousands of fans who packed our festival to see her. In this year in which São Paulo celebrates its 470th anniversary, we are happy to announce the return of this great pop star, now to our The Town. A gift for the São Paulo public who will be thrilled and will sing along to the hits of this iconic artist in our City of Music. The second edition of The Town brings a powerful line-up, full of great national and international stars. A plural and diverse line-up with several shows created exclusively for the festival. It will be a magical edition. Unforgettable. Just the way São Paulo deserves it”, shares Zé Ricardo, artistic vice-president of Rock World, the company that created and organizes The Town and Rock in Rio and produces Lollapalooza.

A new City of Music

In this next edition, the City of Music will provide an exciting atmosphere, with several experiences that the public can enjoy in the 360 thousand square meters of the Interlagos Racetrack. In 2025, the venue's layout will change compared to 2023. The One, Factory and São Paulo Square stages, as well as spaces such as Market Square, will be relocated, aiming for an even more magical visit to Cidade da Música. In addition to the changes to spaces already known to the public, The Town will also gain new stages, experiences and iconic attractions that will be announced soon.

With all these new features, the organization shows that, just like at Rock in Rio, it continues to seek ways to improve the experience and comfort of fans with each new edition – such as the repositioning of the Sunset Stage, in the 2024 edition of the Rio festival, which received a rating of 9.4 from the public, and the arrival of the Global Village, which was a huge hit with the public. It could not be any different at The Town and the new layout reflects Rock World's vision of always evolving with each new edition of its festivals.

In addition to the new stage layout and new attractions that are yet to be announced, radical rides such as the Ferris Wheel, Zip Line, Megadrop and Roller Coaster have already been confirmed for next year's edition. Other major highlights include the powerful scenography that will be present in every corner, the memorable and popular brand activations and the mouth-watering cuisine spread throughout the lawn and in the VIP area.

The giant Skyline, which already draws attention with its scenography inspired by São Paulo's skyscrapers, remains in the same location it was in the last edition.

Meanwhile, The One, where music goes beyond music, bringing powerful artists, more than 30 LED screens and a scenography inspired by São Paulo's art museums, has a new location. It will be in the place where Megadrop was in 2023, in front of where The Town Club Lounge used to be, and will now have a large natural amphitheater, guaranteeing a privileged view of the shows. The Lounge Club, exclusive to The Town Club Rockstar customers, will also be located in front of The One.

The triumphant return of São Paulo Square will have something new. The stage, a hit in the first edition, has also been given a new location and will be located where The One was in 2023. Featuring a soundtrack composed mainly of jazz and blues, genres that will be the most present on the stage, its structure is inspired by the historic architecture of the metropolis and the region where the city was founded.

Meanwhile, Factory will occupy the space that used to be São Paulo Square and will gain a larger natural amphitheater area for the audience to enjoy every second of the shows. This iconic stage is inspired by the old factory warehouses in São Paulo's industrial zone, transforming itself into a true space for great talents in national and international music.

The sophisticated Market Square, which featured renowned chef Alex Atala in the 2023 edition, will also have a new location and will be located next to the space that previously belonged to Factory. With the best that gastronomy has to offer, different kiosks and mouth-watering food and drink options, the space will be covered and air-conditioned. Those who attend the Cidade da Música in 2025 will be able to try out the delights available, which will still be announced by the festival organizers.

Giant and extreme rides will also be present at the Cidade da Música, bringing a magical amusement park atmosphere to the venue. During every day of The Town, fans will have fun with the Zip Line, which will pass in front of the Skyline, providing a privileged view of the stage; with the Ferris Wheel, enjoying the panoramic view of the Cidade da Música; and with the Megadrop and the Roller Coaster, the most exciting and fun attractions in the space.

About The Town

With tickets completely sold out, the first edition of The Town — a festival from the same creators of Rock in Rio — took place in September 2023 and became part of the history and official calendar of events in São Paulo, with the next edition confirmed for 2025. Considered the largest music, culture and art festival in São Paulo, The Town is held in Cidade da Música, in a 350 thousand m2 area of the Interlagos Racetrack, which has been completely renovated. In 2025, the second edition will be held on September 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14, and the organization promises an even bigger and better show that will go down in the history of the capital.

The first edition attracted half a million people over five days, with 220 activations, 125 shows, nine environments, six stages, a musical, 235 hours of experience and an unbelievable similarity to the first edition of Rock in Rio, back in 1985. National and international music names performed on the festival stages, such as Post Malone, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Foo Fighters, Demi Lovato, Joss Stone, Luísa Sonza, Ludmilla, Iza, Jão and Criolo.

The scenography of Cidade da Música was carefully designed to reflect the rich culture and architecture of São Paulo. The Skyline stage, inspired by the city's iconic buildings, featured artists from all over the world, making up the day's four attractions. The One stage offered a setting inspired by the capital's art museums and promoted great artistic encounters and reflections. From Rio to São Paulo, New Dance Order was dedicated to dance music, covering the genres of house, techno, trance, bass and trap. São Paulo Square was inspired by the region where the city of São Paulo was founded, with historic buildings featuring iconic São Paulo architecture, while Factory brought an industrial touch, inspired by old warehouses, providing a unique environment for the performances. Rota 85, one of the most charming and nostalgic streets at Rock in Rio, was also present at the new festival. For the next edition, the festival will also announce the attractions that will be part of Cidade da Música.

The Town also stood out for its commitment to sustainability, guided by the pillars of Dreaming and Making It Happen of the “For a Better World” platform, which was born from Rock in Rio and is now a consistent area within Rock World. The Town was a pioneer in using 472 thousand reusable cups during the five days of the event, avoiding the generation of 10 tons of waste. In partnership with the NGO Gerando Falcões, Gerdau and Fundação Gr with the support of Volkswagen, The Town launched the Favela 3D project, aimed at the social development of the Favela do Haiti, in São Paulo. Through a scalable and sustainable methodology, 290 families are being impacted by actions that promote community strengthening, employability, entrepreneurship, professional training and individualized monitoring, over the course of two years. Upon completing one year, the Favela do Haiti celebrated full employment.

The first edition of The Town had a significant economic impact, generating R$1.9 billion for the city and creating more than 23,400 jobs. With communication that reached 145 million people and sparked 2.21 million conversations on social media, The Town has consolidated itself in the country's cultural and economic calendar.
