A four-year-old boy was shot dead on Thursday night following a fight between his parents in Morro da Fé, in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.
Davi Delgado Magno's father, André Rosa Magno, told authorities that he had been separated from his wife, Raquel Gomes Delgado, for a week. That night, the woman left the house but returned to pick up her son. The two had an argument and Raquel asked local criminals to help her, reported G1.
André, who confessed to being scared, picked up his son, put him in the back seat of his vehicle and sped off, knocking down the garage door. He also ran over one of the criminals, who shot several times at the car and hit the boy in the head.
The man took his son to a hospital, but the child succumbed to his injuries.
The parents were interviewed by the authorities, who are investigating.
