Explosion at the Port of Barcelona Leaves One Dead

 


An explosion at the port of Barcelona, ​​Spain, has left one person dead and one injured. The two victims were carrying out maintenance work at the site.


The incident occurred this morning at 10 am [one hour less in mainland Portugal], and according to the Civil Protection, it was caused by the explosion of a methyl acetate tank.


Several fire brigades are at the scene.


The injured worker was taken to the Vall d'Hebron Hospital.
