A man was seen this Wednesday (22) pushing his deceased 100-year-old mother in a wheelchair through the streets of Rio de Janeiro. According to him, the woman had died last Tuesday (21), and the delay in removing the body led him to seek help on his own.
According to information from the G1 portal, the man reported to the police that his mother began to feel unwell on Tuesday and, shortly after, suffered a sudden illness and died. He called the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU), which confirmed the death and informed him that the Social Services would remove the body.
Given the delay, he decided to take his mother's body to the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) in the Praça Seca neighborhood, west of Rio de Janeiro, in search of help. See:
The Civil Police carried out an examination at the scene, and the body was sent to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) in the Center. The Department of Social Welfare reported that CRAS Gonzaguinha is available to provide support to the elderly woman's family.
