Myanmar authorities have said that a large number of victims have arrived at the hospital in Naypyidaw, the country's capital, following the earthquake that hit the country and Thailand.
A hospital official told France-Presse that some of the injured are being treated outside the emergency room.
In Bangkok, at least 43 workers who were in a 30-storey building under construction are buried, according to the authorities in Thailand's capital.
The Thai government has declared a state of emergency in the capital and the Prime Minister of India has announced that he is prepared to send emergency aid to the areas affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake.
In Myanmar, in the Sagaing region, southwest of Mandalay, a bridge collapsed and sections of the highway linking the city of Yangon were also damaged.
The inhabitants of Yangon abandoned their homes when the earthquake struck.
The United States Geological Survey and Germany's GFZ Geoscience Center said that the earthquake was recorded in Myanmar, formerly Burma, at 13:30 (06:30 in Lisbon).
A second earthquake shook regions in Thailand 12 minutes later.
