Window Cleaner Clings for Life During Earthquake in Bangkok

This is the moment a window cleaner tried to save himself when Thailand and Myanmar were shaken by a 7.7 earthquake last week.

The man was cleaning a high-rise building in Thailand when the earth began to shake.

The man, equipped only with a helmet, a harness and a rope, is initially seen trying to hold on to the building. Later, when the earthquake began to lose intensity, he broke free to try to climb down.

All the while, the water from a swimming pool on the top floor of the building makes life difficult for him.

According to official figures, more than 1,700 people died and more than 3,000 were injured.
