Apple's goal is to prevent its Chinese-made phones from being subject to tariffs, which would mean the company would have to raise prices in the US.
Although Apple products are (for now) exempt from the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on China, the Cupertino-based technology company has already begun taking preventive measures.
According to the MacMagazine website, Apple is already producing the iPhone 16e in Brazil. In the past, Apple's mobile phone production in the country has always taken a few months, but in the case of Apple's latest model, production has already begun and the phone is now being produced in Brazil, China and India.
It is possible that Apple will now increase the number of its products produced in Brazil in order to avoid being subject to tariffs and thus avoid raising prices in the US.
