Cyan Boujee’s TikTok Ban Ignites Human Trafficking Scandal

Cyan Boujee has lost her Tiktok account with over followers and 45 million likes after South Africans reported her page following her involvement in the the Russia Alabuga Human Trafficking Scandal.

Earlier this week, Cyan Boujee alongside some social media influencers promoted a work-study programme in Russia which turned out to be a hoax and an avenue for human trafficking. The “Alabuga Start” programme, which many have alleged trafficked 250,000 girls, recruited several well-known social media influencers to promote the scheme and lure young girls into it.

Aside Cyan Boujee, it was alleged by some users that other influencers such as Sinesipho Jamani, Busisiswe Radebe, Munaka Muthambi, Couple Bontle & Hlogi were also involved in the promotion of the scam programme. From the surface, one might think these large accounts do not have influence on young and naive girls, but they do. These are people with massive influence, massive followings, and young girls typically look up to these well known figure for guidance; and in recent years, they seem to be using their platforms for things that are not beneficial to their younger followers.
