On December 15, James Hunter Bailey, husband of actress Devon Aoki, allegedly struck 40-year-old scooter rider Jonathan King at Douglas Road and Giralda Avenue, then drove off despite King's severe injuries including two fractured feet. Police traced the white Audi to their Pinecrest home, where Bailey briefly fled inside before surrendering; he faces felony charges for leaving the scene of a serious crash and was released on bond. King has filed a negligence lawsuit against Bailey and Aoki, seeking damages amid claims of reckless driving.
