Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce just seven months after walking down the aisle.
Miley Cyrus' 62-year-old father and his 34-year-old wife, Firerose, got married in October 2023. The divorce petition was filed on May 22, according to TMZ, but it wasn't until Tuesday that the news became public.
As for why he filed for divorce, Billy Ray cites irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct”, according to the same publication.
In addition, the musician is asking the court to grant him a full annulment, claiming that the marriage was obtained through fraud.
This divorce marks the end of Billy Ray's third marriage. He was married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991 and to Tish Cyrus, with whom he was with for over 30 years and who is the mother of his three children, Miley, Braison and Noah. The marriage came to an end in April 2022.
