Madrid Tracker Dogs Mobilized in Search for Young Briton

Jay Slater, 19, has been missing in Tenerife for 9 days. The Spanish authorities requested the presence of specialized tracking dogs from Madrid, the capital of Spain, to participate in the searches.

"The Guardia Civil continues with the search for the missing British young man in the Masca neighborhood, in which different units are involved," said the Tenerife Police. According to Sky News, the tracking dogs, which are now part of the operation, were transported to Tenerife this Monday.

On Monday, Jay's father, Warren Slater, made some criticisms of Spanish authorities. Despite acknowledging that many police officers have been "brilliant", the man expressed his displeasure with the lack of communication about the status of the searches.

Both the young man's father, mother and brother traveled to Tenerife shortly after his disappearance.

It should be noted that there are rumors and conspiracy theories, especially on social media, about Jay Slater. The construction company where the young man works published a publication reporting Jay's disappearance and many commented suggesting that the missing man was involved in drug trafficking in Spain.

Others claimed that he had been involved in conflicts, which possibly culminated in his death. There were also those who thought that Jay should pay compensation to the state, if he is found alive, for all the concern caused.

Jay traveled to the Spanish island to participate in a three-day music festival. He disappeared after contacting his friends, who told him he had missed the bus back home and was trying to walk back.
