In a statement released by the press services, João Lourenço extended his congratulations to the Russian people and government and expressed Angola's desire to "continue to strengthen the historic relations of friendship that have united the two countries for more than five decades".
For the Angolan head of state, "the friendly relations between Angola and Russia have prospects for a future in which they can be deepened even further, through the implementation of mutually advantageous cooperation projects in areas of common interest".
